Overview

This app provides a comprehensive collection of Japanese recipes, ranging from traditional dishes to modern home cooking.

Objective

Many people are only familiar with sushi and tempura when it comes to Japanese cuisine. However, making Japanese food at home may seem difficult for some as they may not know how to prepare it well. Our app solves this problem by providing easy-to-follow recipes that beginners can enjoy. The app offers detailed instructions and useful tips for beginners, and more experienced cooks can find more complex recipes and learn about the fundamentals of Japanese cuisine.

Design Concept
  • Simple composition and design
  • Focus on Usability
  • The design reflects Japanese cultural characteristics.
Colour Palette
Font – Verdana
  • AODA’s research showed that the font has excellent legibility and readability.
  • The texts on a cell phone are small, so I want to use the font.

User Interface

As I developed this App, I gave a lot of thought to the users’ experience. I didn’t just focus on the interface; I considered the experience as a whole. To achieve this, I looked closely at other popular Apps and websites to see what worked well and what didn’t. I incorporated the most effective elements into this App.

My main objective was to create an intuitive and user-friendly interface allowing users to navigate seamlessly throughout the App. To achieve this, I ensured that the bottom bar was always at the bottom of the screen so users could access the needed page anytime. Additionally, I ensured that the arrow icon to return to the previous page was always visible at the top of the screen, making navigation easier.
